How Does It Work?

Being pain-free is not the same as being ready. A knee that feels fine walking may still be unable to absorb a landing, change direction, or tolerate repeated sprinting. The gap between those two states is where most re-injuries happen, and it is what this stage exists to close.

The programme is built backwards from your sport. A cricketer needs rotational power, repeated sprint capacity and overhead shoulder tolerance. A runner needs progressive mileage and impact loading. A badminton player needs rapid changes of direction and overhead control. The demands are analysed and then trained specifically.

Loading follows a graded sequence: controlled strength first, then power and rate of force development, then sport-specific movement patterns, then unpredictable reactive drills, then a return to full training. Skipping stages is the usual reason an injury recurs in the first weeks back.

Return is decided by criteria, not by the calendar. Strength symmetry between limbs, hop testing, movement quality under fatigue and confidence are all assessed. Returning because a certain number of weeks have passed is how the same injury happens twice.

  • Uncontrolled pain during or after the previous session
  • Unaddressed instability or mechanical symptoms such as locking or giving way
  • Cardiac or respiratory conditions without medical clearance for high-intensity exercise
