Diabetes and Metabolic Health
Diabetes does most of its damage quietly. The problems physiotherapy can help with are the ones that build over years: numb feet, stiff shoulders, unsteadiness, and the slow loss of the strength and stamina that keep you independent.
What a physiotherapist does here, and what we do not
Physiotherapy for diabetes is about the complications, not the diabetes itself. We assess sensation in the feet and the risk that carries, protect the foot from injury you may not be able to feel, retrain balance where numbness has made walking less steady, treat the stiff and painful shoulders that are more common in diabetes, and build an exercise plan you can actually keep going with.
What happens here does not replace your medical team. Dr. Surabhi Bansal is a physiotherapist, not a physician. The clinic does not prescribe or adjust diabetes medication, does not manage blood glucose, and has no laboratory or imaging on site. Anyone offering to reverse or cure diabetes with physiotherapy is not being straight with you.
Do not wait for a foot to hurt
Diabetes can reduce sensation, so a foot problem may be advanced before it becomes painful. Contact your doctor the same day for any new ulcer, break in the skin, blister, unexplained swelling, redness or warmth in one foot, a change in the shape of the foot, or a wound that is not healing. Do not wait for a physiotherapy appointment.
