Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our physiotherapy services, treatments, and clinic information.
Your first session will typically last 45-60 minutes and will include a comprehensive assessment of your condition. We'll discuss your medical history, evaluate your movement and function, and assess any pain or limitations you're experiencing. Based on this assessment, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan and may begin some initial treatment techniques. We'll also explain your condition and answer any questions you may have.
No, a doctor's referral is not required to visit Modern Physio. You can schedule an appointment directly with us. However, if you have insurance coverage, some plans may require a doctor's referral for reimbursement, so it's advisable to check with your insurance provider beforehand.
The number of sessions varies greatly depending on your specific condition, its severity, your overall health, and how well you respond to treatment. After your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will provide an estimate of your expected treatment duration. It depends on the cause and on how long you have had it. You pay per visit: there is no package to buy and no minimum number of visits, so you continue only for as long as it is helping.
You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that allow for easy movement and provide access to the area being treated. For lower body issues, shorts or loose pants are ideal. For upper body concerns, a t-shirt or tank top works well. If you're coming directly from work, we have changing facilities available.
