Dr. Surabhi Bansal
BPT, MPT Ortho • Orthopedic Physiotherapy
14+ years Experience
About
Dr. Surabhi Bansal has been practising physiotherapy since 2012. She completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) at Brainwave College of Physiotherapy, Jaipur, under Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, qualifying in January 2012, and completed her clinical internship at SMS Hospital, Jaipur. She went on to earn her Master of Physiotherapy in Orthopaedics from Maharaj Vinayak Global University, Jaipur, awarded in December 2015.
From September 2015 to July 2022 she lived and practised in the United States, close to seven years treating a broad range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions. That period shaped her emphasis on evidence-based assessment, hands-on manual therapy and structured rehabilitation programmes rather than passive treatment alone.
She returned to Jaipur and founded Modern Physio to bring that combined Indian and international training to patients in Vaishali Nagar and across the city.
How She Treats
Dr. Surabhi's approach starts from a conviction formed across her Indian training and her seven years of American practice: assessment before treatment, always. A session with her begins with questions and movement testing, not with a machine. She wants to know what your pain stops you from doing(the prayer position you cannot sit in, the stairs at work, the cricket you have given up) because that, not an MRI report alone, defines what treatment has to achieve.
Her treatment style pairs hands-on manual therapy with active rehabilitation. Electrotherapy and heat have their place at Modern Physio, but as supporting acts; the core of almost every plan she writes is graded, progressive exercise, because that is what the strongest evidence in musculoskeletal care supports, and because it leaves patients independent rather than dependent on the clinic.
She is direct about what physiotherapy cannot do. Patients are told when their problem needs a surgeon, a rheumatologist, or imaging first, and several of the clinic's published reviews describe exactly that honesty. The clinic treats seven days a week, and she keeps personal oversight of every treatment plan the team delivers.
Scope of Practice: What She Does and Does Not Do
It is worth being clear about what Dr. Surabhi does not do, because honesty about scope is part of good care. She is a physiotherapist, not a physician: she does not prescribe medication, and the clinic has no X-ray or MRI machine, where imaging or a medical opinion is needed first, she says so and refers you, often to the specialists her patients' cases have connected her with across Jaipur. Patients recovering from surgery are treated in coordination with the operating surgeon's protocol, never against it.
Within her scope, the commitment is complete: assessment on your first visit, a treatment plan you understand and agree to, home programmes that respect the time you actually have, and consultations in English or Hindi as you prefer. The clinic runs seven days a week precisely so that working patients do not have to choose between their recovery and their job.
Your First Visit
- 1Bring any imaging (X-ray, MRI) and prescriptions you already have, and wear clothing you can move in.
- 2Your first visit starts with a detailed history: how the problem began, what makes it better and worse, what treatment you have already tried.
- 3A physical assessment follows: posture, range of movement, strength, and the specific movements that reproduce your symptoms.
- 4You get a working diagnosis explained in plain language, and an honest view of whether physiotherapy is the right first step for you.
- 5Treatment usually begins the same day, and you leave with the first version of your home programme.
- 6Fees are per visit with no packages required, call or WhatsApp +91 82334 02489 for current charges and same-day availability.
Conditions She Treats

Common Questions
Does Dr. Surabhi see every patient personally?
Yes: every new patient is assessed by Dr. Surabhi, and she keeps oversight of every treatment plan. Day-to-day sessions may involve the clinic's team of physiotherapists working under her direction, with her reviewing progress at each stage.
What conditions does she treat most?
Orthopaedic and spine problems make up most of her caseload: back pain, neck pain, slipped disc, sciatica, frozen shoulder, knee pain, and rehabilitation after joint replacement or fracture. The clinic also runs dedicated women's health, neurological, and sports injury programmes.
Can I consult her before deciding on surgery?
Yes, and many patients do. She will give you an honest assessment of whether a supervised physiotherapy trial makes sense for your condition, and will tell you plainly when surgery is the better path and coordinate with your surgeon's protocol afterwards.
How do I book an appointment with her?
Call or WhatsApp +91 82334 02489. The clinic is open seven days a week, 7 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm, at 73 East, Giriraj Vihar, Lalapura, near Shalby Hospital, Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur: most patients use Shalby Hospital as the landmark and the clinic is moments from it. Same-day appointments are often available, and home visits can be arranged for patients who cannot travel.
