Frequently Asked Questions

Can physiotherapy cure my arthritis?

While physiotherapy cannot cure arthritis, it is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for managing symptoms and slowing progression. Our treatments focus on reducing pain, improving mobility, and enhancing quality of life. Many patients experience significant improvement in their symptoms and daily function through regular physiotherapy.

Is exercise safe for arthritis patients?

Yes, appropriate exercise is not only safe but essential for arthritis management. Our physiotherapists design specialized exercise programs that take into account your specific type of arthritis, affected joints, and overall condition. The right exercises can improve joint mobility, strengthen supporting muscles, and reduce pain. We'll teach you which exercises are beneficial and which to avoid.

How many physiotherapy sessions will I need for arthritis?

The number of sessions varies based on your specific condition, severity of symptoms, and response to treatment. Initially, we may recommend 2-3 sessions per week for 4-6 weeks. As you improve, the frequency may reduce to maintenance sessions. Arthritis is a chronic condition that typically requires ongoing management, so periodic check-ins are beneficial even after your initial treatment plan.

Can I continue physiotherapy during an arthritis flare-up?

Yes, but the approach will be modified. During flare-ups, we focus on gentle techniques, pain management strategies, and protection of inflamed joints. Physiotherapy can actually help reduce the severity and duration of flare-ups. Always inform your therapist about changes in your symptoms so they can adjust your treatment accordingly.

How does physiotherapy complement medical treatment for arthritis?

Physiotherapy works synergistically with medical management. While medications address inflammation and pain from a biochemical perspective, physiotherapy improves the mechanical aspects of joint function and muscle support. This comprehensive approach often allows for better symptom control and sometimes reduced medication needs. We're happy to coordinate with your physician to ensure integrated care.

Visited Modern Physio Jaipur for shoulder pain that had been bothering me for weeks. Dr. Surabhi diagnosed the issue clearly and started a targeted physiotherapy treatment plan. What I liked most is she explains everything - what the problem is, why it happened, and how the treatment will help. Genuine, knowledgeable physiotherapist who actually listens. Highly recommend to anyone in Jaipur dealing with muscle or joint pain.

I visited Modern Physio for severe pain in the lower right side of my back after my dog suddenly pulled me in the opposite direction during a walk. The pain was quite intense and was affecting my daily routine. Dr. Surabhi first examined me properly and advised an MRI, which really helped in understanding the root cause. After that, the physiotherapy sessions began. I honestly started feeling relief within just two sessions, and after about 5–6 sessions, my pain was completely resolved. The treatment was very professional, systematic and effective. What I loved most is the overall environment of the clinic. They have a Persian cat, two dogs and a turtle, which makes the place extremely peaceful and positive. It genuinely feels like not just physical healing, but mental and emotional healing too. Highly recommend Modern Physio to anyone dealing with back, neck or joint pain. Thank you so much for the wonderful care and support. 🙏
